TCB: Why did you join The Collective Blueprint?

Chrishaun:  In the fall of 2022, I had no college degree and it was difficult for me to find good, steady work. I saw the Collective’s program on social media and thought it could help me get into cybersecurity, but I got more out of my experience than just job training. My entire mentality shifted, from “I really need this job” to “What can this position offer me?” and “What can I offer this employer?”

TCB: What did you like about the program?

Chrishaun: I connected with other young people in the city and networked with professionals in different industries. I met so many people who are different from me — some are quiet, some are outgoing. Some people are fighters, and others are just waiting to be inspired. But we all found ourselves trying to build better lives, in Memphis.

TCB: What advice would you give another young adult?

Chrishaun: I feel for the challenges facing our city; I understand why people like me would be trying to leave. The Collective Blueprint helped show me that there are other young people in the city who want to make a change.
